  • Condition: SEE PHOTOS. Amazingly well preserved, fresh, very clean, from the original family estate in Pennsylvania. Color is even, not faded out or soiled or aged looking. Silk is supple, no dryness or splitting, nandles well, very supple and soft. Hems excellent. SEE PIX and Please, ask if you need more photos or details. No odors, from a smoke free home. Could use a light steaming to get out any surface wrinkles, but really in nice shape. No holes or spots.

    Description

    A scarce find.  Fresh from the original Pennsylvania estate, and in well preserved condition.  A handsome antique Victorian era silk bandana.   Pure silk, with two edges having the original selvages and two neatly tiny stitched hemmed edges.  Measures approx 21" square.  Paisley and flowers and more, in a rich turkey red with butter cream and black.  Dates to the 1860s to 1880s.  No holes, no soiling, no fold lines, no fade, no odors, silk has no dryness or splits, clean.  Edges may be hand hemmed, not sure, please see the photos. The photo with my fingertip shows the reverse side.  This came to me in a small wooden trunk filled with Civil War era clothing and small textiles, all of which were lovingly stored in the original family estate in Pennsylvania, and in great condition.  A really special antique silk handkerchief bandana.
