Vintage Burgess & Leigh Burleigh Ware WILLOW Blue Burslem England 2.5" Flat CUP & SAUCER Set
Manufactured by Burgess and Leigh Pottery, in the Staffordshire Town of Burslem Under the Burleigh Brand
Dates from the 1930's
Features a Very Nicely Detailed, Rich "Blue Willow" Pattern. This is the Willow Pattern WITHOUT Gold Trim.
The "Blue Willow" pattern is over 200 years old and has been continual production longer than any other pattern. It depicts the Chinese fable of an eloping couple transforming into doves, and has became of one the most identifiable design elements of 18th and 19th century ceramics.
EXCELLENT CONDITION ~ No nicks, chips, cracks, flea bites, crazing or damage. VERY NICE cup & saucer set.
Cup measures approx. 2 1/2" tall x 3 5/8" rim diameter.
Saucer measures 5 3/4" diameter.
