A note about the trim edges:  This is a fabric, not ribbon, trim.  The fabric edges will need to be turned under when you stitch the trim onto your project.
Rural women from the relatively isolated region of
Kutch in western India have a tradition of vibrant hand embroidery.  Often embellished with mirrors, the handwork communicates not only a woman's artistic skills, but frequently her tribal affiliation as well.
This piece is from the Garasia Jat community, a farming and cattle herding tribe.  Their precise embroidery is made up of tiny counted cross stitches and usually incorporates minute mirrors.
