Lot of 8 pieces (including wallets) are Identification papers for a Fred M. Slater form Detroit MI.. Included is a  Water-Front Pass for Port of Detroit(stamp very light). On the pass is his stamped photograph, date--Jul. 8 1918; No. 793665; address; Occupation--Food and Drug Inspector; Employer--Food and Drug Department; Pass good at--Universel; stamped Henry Benhrendt (United States Marshall)

handwritten note with phone# of members (Charles Prindle Binns & John Prindle)  of the Redford,MI. Cemetary Assoc. (John was the past president of the assoc.) and math figures

"Frederick M. Slater - Called by Death
Frederick M. Slater, secretary of the National Association fo Bottle Exchanges and president of th e Redford-Detroit Exchange Club, died of a heart attack Wednesday at his home 15004 Greenview avenue. e was 62 years old. He was born in Redford Township and spent most of his life in Detroit. For 10 years he was employed by the Department of Agriculture and at one time was an inspector in the Internal Revenue Bureau. During the Spanish American War he served in Cuba as a sergeant in Co. H, 31st Michigan Volunteers. He also assisted in training reserves during the World War, serving as a major.
He was a member of Pingree Post, United States War Veterans: Wolverine Post, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Diamond Lodge, I.O.O.F., being the oldest past grand of that lodge. He leaves his wife, May .; a son, Raymond, of Herkimer, N.Y., and one daughter, Mrs. Joseph E. Johnson, of Detroit.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm. Friday in the residence, with the Rev. Hugh Jack, of the Northminister Presbyterian Church, officiatiing. Burial will be i Grand Lawn Cemetery. Wolverine Post, Veterans of Foreigh Wars, will be in charge of the services."
