Perthshire 1988C Amethyst and White Double Overlay

Description

The factory designation for this weight is 1988C.
We don't find many weights that have a deep purple/amethyst overlay, but this striking Amethyst over White Double Overlay from Perthshire demonstrates just how effective this color can be.
The overlay encloses a lampwork Scottish Thistle with two pink blossoms.
The Thistle design is encircled by a Triple garland of millefiori canes in three colors with the outer ring pulled down to form a shallow basket.
The weight is 2-5/16" in diameter and 1-5/8" high.
It has a one top facet, six small upper side facets, and six larger lower side facets.
It is signed with a "P" cane in the outer garland ring.
The weight was also issued with a green/white overlay.
The edition size was limited to not more than 400 pieces worldwide however only 313 were made.
