    Description

    Pine needle coiled baskets are an ancient Native American handcraft still being done today in different areas of the country where pine trees are abundant.  The bundles of pine needles are coiled, then sewn together with sisal or swamp grass.
    This low oval basket is 10-1/4 inches by 8-1/2 inches & about 2 inches tall.
    It is in very good condition & is still tightly coiled.  Age & origin is unknown, but it is not new.  Most of my collection was purchased in Atlanta or Charleston in the 1980-90s.
