  • Condition: In Good Condition. Traditional basket in excellent to very good condition except the handle has been removed due to breakage. Clean, strong and beautiful. Great size for organizing magazines, linens, toys, etc. Large white oak splint basket measures approx 13" x 13" x 7" H. It has details in contrasting color made with natural purplish red bloodroot dye, a time consuming methid used by teh Cherokee and other mountain weavers in Appalachia. The remnant of the handle has a slight sheen; the weave of the basket is natural unfinished wood. Solid finished wood base. Unsigned. Some light wear and distressing in handle area.
